Every Third Friday of the Month is MAGNUM NIGHT!

This is when we will crack open a magnum or two to serve by the glass: usually of something not available by the glass and usually something not readily available on our list! Why a Magnum? Well for a start wine keeps better in bigger bottles so the bigger the bottle the better the quality of that wine…plus it a bit of Fun!

The First of our Magnum Friday’s will be the 19th of November where we will be cracking open a Lovely Tempranillo from the estates of Ester Pinuaga – 200 Cepas… those of you who have tried and liked the Colección and even the bag in the box La Frasca are in for a real treat!

Ticketed Tastings

As restrictions ease we hope to be able to introduce a variety of tasting events open to numbers of up to 30 customers at anyone time. We already have some great producers and suppliers lined up, but while some travel restrictions are still in place some of the further afield guests may not appear until next year …Meanwhile though we hope to Kick off proceedings with a Tasting Evening on Thursday 25th November led by Laura Taylor Marketing Manager of Private Cellar (and as it happens a friend of ours). Laura fell into the wine industry by accident …like so many ..more to follow.

The tasting will include a welcome drink on arrival, large grazing platters, 6 beautiful wines from across the globe, an introduction to the wines by Laura and the opportunity to chat with her as you move from wine to wine.

Laura owes her wine trade career to the late David Stevens MW who she met playing tennis in South Devon many years ago. David was working with Argentinean producer Bodegas Trapiche at the time and it was at their Buenos Aires HQ that Laura first worked in 1994 having majored in Spanish at university. Back in the UK, she joined Avery’s of Bristol before moving to Corney & Barrow in 1997 where she spent seven happy years, latterly as Marketing Manager. Joining Andrew and Nicola at the start of Private Cellar’s journey in 2005 was the beginning of a brilliant adventure and you will see Laura’s design ideas throughout all their literature, offers and website. Aside from her Marketing responsibilities, Laura also manages their customers’ reserves and looks after the wine requirements of her private customers and collectors. She wishes that her mentors David Stevens MW and John Avery MW were alive to see that she has embarked on the MW journey herself and is currently studying in Stage 2 of the programme.

Thursday November 25th , 7pm -9pm, £30pp ticket advised to book in advance due to limited space.
